Making the decision to start counselling can be a life changing one.
It is important that you take the time with a potential counsellor to ask some questions and try it out before making a commitment. Research also shows that the relationship you have with your counsellor is a critical factor in determining your success at making the changes you are thinking about in your life. This is a FREE 30 minute scheduled telephone or in-person session. The first 15 minutes are to discuss the concern(s) that started you thinking about counselling as your solution, followed by a discussion of some “homework” for you for the following week. Then we spend the next 15 minutes answering any questions you have that will help make your decision. At the end of the sample session, we will make a decision about starting counselling together with a formal appointment.
